A nice view just off the trail around mile 28 and a half mile uphill from a great spring!
Near the crossing over Route 40 was a nice little stream. A welcomed break on our first day out . ..
Self Portrait from Weverton Cliffs over the Potomac
Harpers Ferry, WV
On the way to the train after staying the night at the Harpers Ferry Hostel, we were treated to an incredibly crisp and clear morning with a beautiful sunrise! This is the Potomac River just after the Shenandoah River joins from the right.
Weverton Cliffs looking toward Harpers Ferry (below the far ridge). If you look closely, you can see the train near the river.
Sarah at the end of the road -- 42 miles complete and eager to get a Coke!
Me (and pack) at the end of the trip, just prior to destroying a barbecue sandwich and some coffee.
Near the South Mountain Inn restaurant, where we had our first real meal in almost 48 hours. Our scent didn't quite clear the room, and I got some much needed coffee!
Penmar, PA under the official trail marker. As you can see, North to Maine, South to Georgia.
