Female Cardinal in February This female was one of a group of Cardinals in the woods for the entirety of the winter months. In all, there were about ten males and ten females that I observed during this time. If it weren't for the bit of light creeping through the canopy, she would have blended right in to the brown depths of the woods.
Northern Cardinal. (-)10 Celsius, but still enough running water in the stream to be appealing for a bath!
