Ankor Sunrise
Perhaps difficult to understand, tons of tourists get here before 5a to see the sun rise over Ankor Wat. The sun comes up, people feel enlightened, then they leave. We quite enjoyed staying around for a while!
Pup
Our briefly adopted dog takes in the view before once again speeding ahead.

Passing Time
Musee Orsay From the clock tower in the Orsay, with Monemarte and the Tulleries gardens visible through the windows. Louvre is bottom right. Paris, France
Wild and Wonderful
Wildflowers growing in the tallgrass prairie near Topeka, KS. The frame is only two inches wide -- this one employed a macro lens.

Tired
After a thousand years, they should be. Famous heads at Bayon in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Early June saw typical temperatures in the 115F range. Our driver introduced us to this new idea -- relaxation -- by lounging in the hammocks with him and the other drivers after lunch. Not a bad idea.
Monarch
Goshen Prong
Smoky Mountain National Park -- gorgeous and full after a nice little storm blew through.
Cherries at Dawn
Cherry Blossom Festival 2011 A perfectly tranquil morning before the tourists showed up for what would be a tightly packed and massive crowd on the middle Sunday of the festival. The sun just peaks over the horizon and barely illuminates the blossoms in this photo from the tidal basin.
Mornings in Pokhara
After many hazy and cloudy days in Pokhara, we finally got the views from the postcards.
Portrait Session
Orange-crowned Warbler against a background of snow and ice. She presented such a professional pose that I had to snap a few portraits. Probably a juvenile with little in the way of identifiable field marks -- this one was found in the thicket at the edge of a frozen pond in early January 2010.
Contrast
Leaves in Oil -- Something fascinating about such an incredible annual transformation, the changing of the leaves, which leads to amazing rich colors...only to fall into a stream filled with oil, also full of life and color! Nikon F4, 35mm Film, 24mm Lens
